With its history of about 500 years, the Great Inn is a pearl among existent buildings in the palisaded part of Nicosia. During the Ottoman Period, it served as an Inn. It was utilized as a prison during the British rule in the 1890s. around 1950, the Great Inn opened up its gates to the beggarly.
